Themed evenings are a very popular option for creating a unique
atmosphere at events and parties. Over the years, we have produced many
such evenings for a wide range of clients – both private and corporate –
and have successfully fitted into budgets of a few hundred pounds right
up to six figure extravaganzas. We have listed below 25 of the most
popular themes, but are able to offer the same number again, so if what

Australian G'day!
Perfect for a
different and fun filled Summer Party. Organise a Barbecue and stand
back for full - on fun! Which will you do first, the Boomerang
competition, playing the Didjeridoo, riding the surf machine or even
having a go at the Kangaroo boxing. The Australian evening is ideal for
themed menu’s and we can help with ideas if you get stuck. Have a Fancy
Dress competition and dress up as famous Aussies – Dame Edna or even
Skippy, then sit back and enjoy one thing that Sydney has almost become
a by – word for, stunning fireworks.
Blitz Ball
Re-live the sights
and sounds of life during the Blitz. We skilfully re-create the
nostalgia of the memorable moments from the
war years with a stunning production of the Big Band sound, blended with
a huge variety of room and table décor. Your music could be brought to
you live by the sounds of Dame Vera Lynn, the Magic of Glenn Miller or
even the cheeky impishness of George Formby! The venue is totally
transformed into an air raid shelter, with quality props of camouflage
netting, sand bag machine gun posts, or backdrops of the major London
landmarks of the day. The effect can be completed with Air Raids and
specialist pyrotechnics if desired.
Bavarian Oompah
The
Bavarian Oktoberfest is the
German equivalent of Mardi Gras, where wild parties, gluttony, and
alcoholic promiscuity are readily found in abundance. Celebrate this
traditional festival with
authentic German Oktoberfest music.
Traditional and modern songs ranging from the "big band" sound of the
1930's, all the way through to country & western and rock.! This is an
experience not to be forgotten, with shows featuring dancing, knee &
thigh slapping, as well as various skits, cowbell ringing, and the very
popular alpenhorn. We can also provide fantastic room décor to
transform your venue to deepest Bavaria, plus all of the costumes and
accessories you will need to make this the best possible experience.
Blues Brothers
Have you seen the
light? What is there to be said about one of the biggest cult movies of
the 20th Century? Full of fun, dancing and the greatest music
this is one of the most enjoyable theme evenings available (and one of
the easiest to arrange). Hand painted backdrops of industrial all -
American images transport your guests to downtown Chicago, and the
atmosphere is further enhanced by the arranging of suitable props and
sympathetic lighting throughout. Simple table décor of balloons and hats
and glasses is all you need to get everyone in the mood.
Bond Evening
A classier evening
is to be had with a James Bond night. There are loads of fantastic
ideas to choose from, superb look a likes – Jaws, Odd Job, Sean Connery
all could meet and greet your guests whilst the subtle sound of the
background jazz get everyone into the mood. During dinner your guests
could be entertained by table entertainers, perhaps a magician or
silhouette artist. You could even have a caricaturist doing sketches
onto pre-drawn bond images for that special memento. After dinner, take
your chances with the Casino or dance to the sounds of the resident band.
The décor could be that of a sumptuous location, or it could be an
separate Bond movie theme to each individual table.
Caribbean Beach Party
Sit back and
picture sunny beaches, blue skies, the sound of gentle surf crashing in
the distance and percussive steel drums. Smell the sunscreen, see the
bright tropical colours and feel the balmy breezes as you take your
drink from the Beach Bar. Relax in your new surroundings of a Caribbean
paradise, adjust the brim of your beachcomber hat and watch the stress
of the daily grind drift away. After you have been serenaded over dinner
by the superb steel band, watch and marvel at the antics of the Limbo
dancers – perhaps even have a go – then laugh with those brave enough to
try the Inflatable Surf Machine, or the Jet Ski simulator.
Circus
A stunning theme
with all of the thrills and spills of the Big Top. You decide how much
of the theme to take up, but whatever the scale you opt for, you are
sure of a very different night. Upon your arrival you are met by the
Ringmaster. Marvel at the Jugglers and the Fire-Eaters as they showcase
their skills right up close, then follow them through to dinner. As you
dine, the entertainers return and are joined by any number of highly
entertaining artists who have worked at parties in the Millennium Dome,
Paris, North America and Africa. Select from the following artists –
unicyclist, illusionist, card sharp, pickpocket, high flying acrobat
team, swordswallower, human mirrorball, hand balancing act, tight - rope
walkers, high trapeze, comic circus show, contortonist, magic show,
floor hoop and aerial skills, visual theatre, trampoline acts, clown
acts, human canonball. Your appetitie suitably whetted, you now need to
look at the décor to give the right atmosphere to your venue. One of our
fantastic modern marquees or an unusual circus tents designed abroad may
be your choice, or we can decorated your chosen venue to suit your exact
requirements with whatever décor fits your budget.
1970's Disco
Inferno
The one to let your hair down on!
The core of the event is the fantastic live 70’s band with full costume
and stage show. Supported by a stunning disco with a true 70’s style DJ
it couldn’t get any better. If you fancy, add to the entertainment and
the spectacle by booking male and female dancers who dance on their
podiums before moving to the dance floor to encourage your guests onto
their feet. This theme lends itself perfectly to fancy dress, and to
encourage this, we can also decorate the room with bespoke décor and
groovy psychedelic lighting. On the tables we could place a balloon
centre-piece with table confetti, as well as various fun items for your
guests to play with or wear as required. A very popular theme, this has
all of the ingredients you need to ensure a great success.
Gangster Evening
Watch out, you
can't be too sure who you're rubbing shoulders with on this one,
surrounded as you are by mobsters, booze and gambling. Taking you back
to 1930's Chicago, you enter our speakeasy through the dark and dismal
alleyway, past the hoods searching all the shadiest looking characters
before you are greeted by our host with his moll. After dinner you will
be entertained by dancing girls - join in too, if you dare but beware of
shady characters mingling with packs of cards and dice - they are only
after your money. With the cabaret reaching its conclusion, now is the
time to introduce our illicit gambling at the casino. Practice at the
shooting gallery then try to outdraw Humphrey Bogart if you feel up to
it. But, beware! Win too many greenbacks and our gangster element may
not be too friendly. A great night of varied entertainment with
something for everyone.
Hollywood
Glitz and Glamour
are the order of the day for this event. Bringing your venue up to
Hollywood standards, exotic plants and flowers are everywhere, the
Hollywood hills and the skyline of Los Angeles are your backdrops whilst
the tables and chairs are decorated to the highest standard with the
finest linen. The entertainment too is top drawer, with your choice of
superb entertainers from the worlds of music, magic and cabaret.
Glamorous look-alikes of the greatest movie stars wander around the
rooms in character, and full sized cut-outs of black and white movie
stars add to the atmosphere and make wonderful dance partners!
Horror / Halloween Ball
Let your imagination run riot with
this superb theme. There are almost too many ideas to have for just one
night! From the flames and mood lighting at the entrance, to the
stunning wall backdrops of graveyards, castles or dungeons in the room
itself, you will be transported to another world. Additional effect can
be given by dry ice to the floor, and fun décor items spread all over
the tables and rooms add the final touch. The entertainment too is
completely in sync with the feel of the night, from a costumed live band,
through to goulish magical cabaret and horrific meet and greet
entertainers. A nice final touch could be ‘Dracula’ as your host, doing
his ‘Monster Mash’ double act with ‘Frankenstein’s Monster’ as your
background pianist.
Indian Evening
The mystical majesty of the sub-continent
is brought direct into your venue. Lavish tapestries traditional drapes
and masks adorn the walls, and the smell of incense is everywhere.
Elephants and Tigers at the reception drinks? The amount and quality of
décor and entertainment is up to you, you can decide at any point to
upgrade or just keep it as simple as you feel appropriate. And what of
the entertainment? The choices are extensive, from Sitar based
background music, to a 13 piece Indian Dhol drumming band, through to a
12 piece Bhangra band direct from Bollywood! Then there are the dancers
and the costumes too! Or would you like your venue and guests taken to a
night of the Raj set in 1926, with all of the elegance and opulence of
the supreme Jewel in the Crown.
Latin carnival
‘Feel the heat of the Latino beat.’
From Seville to Rio, Acapulco to Buenos Aires this is the party for
serious music and dancing. We can offer musicians and dancers that will
simply blow your mind, we can decorate your chosen venue until it
resembles the farthest flung corner of South America or you could hold a
simple evening of fine cuisine followed by Salsa instruction, or it
could be more! Just imagine a Flamenco evening, with a sumptuous Spanish
menu with the sounds of the classical guitar to serenade you. Then after
dinner the beautiful steps of the Flamenco dancers in full costume. Or
the unmistakable sounds of the Samba, with dancers and musicians varying
in scale from 10 to over 40 piece spectacles. Or leave it to us to
provide a balanced evening that covers all styles.
Medieval
Popular world-wide
theme, and we have the ability to offer several styles of shows to suit
all requirements of regional differences and budgets. Sit back and soak
up the atmosphere of the Medieval Court of King Henry VIII., enjoy the
Jesters wit, the Jugglers balance, and marvel at the stunning Wizard!
Dine in the very presence of the King, as he leads you through a full
evening of music, humour, surprise, and audience participation. This is
a full three hour show where the food is served in four ‘removes’ as
part of the evening’s pageantry. With over twenty songs, the King’s
majestic entrance, the ceremony of the salt, the knighting of the guests,
the fighting of the Knights, the light hearted competition between the
gentlemen and the ladies, and the infamous Henry VIII’s Medieval
Galliard, this is one of the most dramatic and lively of themed evenings
available today. We can also add to the feel of the event with hand made
costumes and authentic crockery and cutlery.
Moulin Rouge
What a spectacle!
No less than Six Can Can dancers (perfect for meet and greet too),
Disco, pavement artist, jazz trio to the corner of the room and a
wandering accordionist to serenade the tables make up the typical
entertainment package of this Euro treat. The décor begins with
chequered tablecloths, green bottle candleholders, plus a host of
‘French’ smaller decorations, from berets and flags, to table
centrepieces and right through to a stunning 6m x 3m Arc de Triomphe
backdrop. Further entertainment and larger décor props and wall
backdrops can be added if required, but whatever the scale you choose
for your French evening, you won’t forget it in a hurry.
Party of the Century
With so many great
themes to choose from, have you ever wished they could all be blended
together to make one big party to appeal to everyone? Well now you can.
This marvellous party is a celebration of the entire 20th
Century. From the era of the Titanic, through the Roaring 20’s and
Gangster 30’s, you are taken on a trip into the time of the Blitz and
the era of Rock and Roll, before moving up a gear into the Swinging 60’s
and the wonderfully over the top 1970’s, finishing your journey with the
1980’s and 1990’s! The décor and music are tailored to your tastes
exactly, each table is a different decade and the pace is relentless so
that nothing is missed on your passage through time. As a unique climax
to the evening, why not book the superb ‘Keith Cool’ who presents the
key events of history from the entire last millennium right before your
very eyes!
Pirate Night
Treasure Island is
your destination in the crystal waters of the Caribbean. Led by the
local Innkeeper, the guests are split into rival Pirate crews, which
throughout the evening vie with each other in lively songs and
competitions. Your venue is transformed with hand painted backdrops
depicting galleons and waterfalls and the effect is completed with
Pirate flags and props spread throughout the room. A fully scripted
show, watch out for the fight scenes, the superb ‘Crossing of the Line’
ceremony, and the fantastic ‘Sailors Hornpipe’ ending.
Roman
Forget ‘Gladiator’,
this is the real thing! Full show with the Emperor Maximus with his
Centurions at his side. This show contains songs, comedy, Turkish and
Greek dancing and all of the fast moving fun, non stop entertainment and
competition you would expect from a period in time over 2,000 years ago.
Including Slave Auctions, Chariot Races and the 2 Man Catapult! Full
room and table décor is available along with togas and battle gear for
all.
1950's Rock &
Roll
The birth of Rock &
Roll is re-created exclusively for your event. The night is filled with
music from the decade as Elvis is king and Chubby Checker rocks around
the clock. Full decor is available, for the room we have juke boxes,
pinball machines, neon signs and even tables dressed as half cars! A
full costume service for the guests and serving staff means the
transformation is complete. Dance displays and live bands / tribute
artists provide superb entertainment, and to cap it all there are dance
display routines and extravagant themed décor to each table.
Swinging Sixties /Austin Powers
Famous for it’s
fashion, this Sixties evening is the hippest, grooviest most swinging
night in town– yeah baby yeah! Expose yourself to an original high
energy experience of music and unique comedy, that will make your
celebration the most talked about in years! A great excuse to get all
dressed up in your most outlandish outfit and let your hair down. Our
props department will be full of ideas and suggestions for décor to suit
the theme, and we can also offer from a huge range of fun items to make
the party really go with a bang. If you are after a more traditional
60’s feel why not book a Beatles or Rolling Stones tribute band instead,
either way it all adds up to something really special.
Traditional Themes
Whatever your needs for traditional
entertainment, we can offer styles of music, dance and the visual arts
from regions within the UK and further afield. From the Pearly King &
Queen of London’s east end, to the traditional Sword and Clog dancers of
rural Northumberland our suppliers can create the perfect atmosphere for
your evening. Soak up the ‘craic’ with an Irish night for St Patrick’s
Day with Ceili and traditional songs and music using authentic
instruments, or increase the effect of your Burns night with a Highland
piper, Scottish country dance band and sword dancers. For larger events,
we can bring to your venue folk entertainment from any corner of the
world. Authentic traditional dance and musical skills from Africa,
China, Peru, or closer to home from Eastern Europe. What better way to
impress visitors from overseas than with a well thought out and
professionally produced evening of entertainment unique to the area they
are visiting.
Virtuoso Evening
Enjoy the
highlights of classical music with a choice of entertainment provided by
professional artists and theatrical companies. You could choose the most
popular of classical music, the best songs from musical theatre, or
highlights from Gilbert and Sullivan. For example you could create real
magic by holding a small Opera evening , with perfect presentation of
classic music either side of your dinner courses in short 10 – 15 minute
segments, with all of the artists in perfect outfits and settings.
After coffee is served, sit back for the main attraction of the evening
with a performance of up to 40 minutes. The format is the same whatever
the style of music you choose – simply the highest quality musicianship
alongside your meal.
Viennese Masked Ball
Champagne is the
drink of the night, and the intrigue of disguise and the mystery of
identity are part of the magic of the Austrian masked ball, with masks
are provided for all guests. The evening’s entertainment will include a
four-piece string ensemble and a pianist and a mezzo-soprano. Classic
costumes or evening - wear of Black or White Bow Tie are the order of
the evening. In the past, the gala balls of Vienna were held under
brilliant chandeliers and in rooms adorned with mirrors which appeared
to multiply the dancers into the thousands. With ballrooms dressed to
the hilt, decked out with thousands of flowers, the walls covered with
magnificent trimmings and ablaze with glittering lights, they evoke an
atmosphere of elegance and tradition. The waltz still reigns supreme,
but these days the bands play a variety of popular dancing music to suit
the tastes of every age and generation. Options include, liveried
footmen to greet the ball-goers, fanfares to announce the beginning of
the ball.
Viking Invasion
Meet Max Bloodaxe. Your guests are
split between the ‘Warriors’ and the ‘Maidens’ and are now ready to
begin the mayhem! There are plenty of songs and lots of music, non stop
fun and laughter with a lively atmosphere that appeals to all. Full room
and table décor is available along with authentic ‘Norse’ costumes and
battle gear for everyone. Why not set the room out and decorate it in
the style of a Viking longboat?
Wild West
The year is 1872,
the whole State has arrived for the annual humdinger of a ball. Take
your partner for some great dancing (with instruction from a fully
qualified instructor) to the sounds of the Wild West band, or take your
chances with the rodeo bull or the saloon Casino. Or you could take it
nice and easy and try your luck at the Quick Draw machine, or the Firing
Range or even at one of the various side stalls that set up at the ranch
year after year. Or you could try the ultimate challenge, and try your
hand at live gold panning with our unique water panning system. There is
also a massive choice for room décor, with your choice of either large
scale props and backdrops, or smaller fun items for the tables and
dressing up for the guests.
